Colin Cameron earned bottom of the table Wolves their first-ever win in the Premiership as high-flying Manchester City crashed to a shock defeat at Molineux.
Cameron pounced with a 75th minute header, Wolves' first Premiership goal of the season at home, as City slumped to their first away defeat of the season following a dismal performance.
Wolves boss Dave Jones was delighted with the long awaited win and he said: "I am going to enjoy my weekend.
"We played at a great tempo and never let them settle and the three points has got us back among the pack.
"The way that we secured the win was what really pleased me." City manager Kevin Keegan was left fuming by his side's display and he said: "I am very disappointed. We didn't play well and we never really got going.
"We had to play better but we never got going. It is always disappointing to lose, but even more so when you have not played well." Henri Camara should have broken Wolves Premiership goal duck at Molineux after just five minutes.
The Senegal international striker was set-up by a knockdown from Paul Butler after a corner from Alex Rae but ballooned his shot over the bar.
Despite their problems in scoring goals this season, Wolves carried the greater threat.
Former England international goalkeeper David Seaman had to be alert to save long-range drives from Cameron and Camara.
Following their lacklustre display in the first period, City did carry more of a threat in the second-half with Michael Tarnat having their first real attempt on goal when his 53rd minute drive was saved by keeper Michael Oakes.
Antoine Sibierski then saw his curling drive dip just over the bar seven minutes later.
But Wolves still looked the more likely side to score and Seaman had to come to their rescue again after 73 minutes when he did well to hold a fiercely struck drive from Alex Rae.
But there was nothing that Seaman could do just two minutes later when Camara turned provider for Cameron.
Camara had whipped in a number of crosses without gaining any reward but his persistence finally paid off when Cameron found himself unmarked to head home from six yards.
The shock of falling behind a last sparked City into life and their best spell of the game.
Paulo Wanchope hit the post in the 82nd minute after a cross from Trevor Sinclair.
Sinclair then lifted over a corner three minutes into injury time only for Oakes to dive low at his near post to save a fierce drive from Sun Jihai.
