The bogus tickets have been sold for the Rochdale Road end to unsuspecting Blues and the police have been alerted after an Oldham fan informed the club.
Police have warned that officers will be checking the authenticity of tickets before kick-off and anyone with a forged ticket will be refused entry and be questioned about where they got it.
Supt Stuart Harman told the M.E.N: "People found in possession of a forged ticket will ultimately have a wasted journey.
"If anyone is worried they may be in possession of a forged ticket they should contact the club before travelling to the game."
Oldham's chief executive Alan Hardy said information had been received that some of the tickets were reportedly on sale in local pubs, though none had yet been recovered and identified as counterfeits.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
