The USA midfielder managed 45 minutes in the 1-1 home draw with Middlesbrough and, as long as there are no further hiccups, he is expected to be in contention for next Monday’s visit to Norwich.
Reyna injured his groin at Palace in September but aggravated the problem when he made his initial comeback against Blackburn in November.
"I went to see a specialist in Germany but when things like this happen, there are so many specialists and people always have a different opinion so it kind of throws your head all over the place,” he told the official City website. “You can start thinking about things too much.
"It was a big relief just to be able to run out. It wasn't so much the performance; it was more being able to get some fitness work under my belt. I felt pretty good and now I've just got to clear the mental hurdle.
"I've broken down twice from the initial injury so of course you think about that when you are out there playing. You just need to get over it. Once I am able to do that, I think I will be OK again.
"I want to help out as much as I can in the last 11 games and try my best to help us finish no lower than where we are now," he added.
"Through the summer I have to work hard and make sure I do my fitness work.
"I really can't switch off because this has been my off-time. I have internationals during the summer so I have to stay fit and sharp, so when I come back I will be ready to go and the bad injuries will be behind me.”
