Stephen Elliot, Willo Flood, Stephen Jordan and Paddy McCarthy have all been named in the squad after consistently impressing in the reserves this season.
Nicolas Anelka is still suspended, and he is joined by centre-midfielders Joey Barton and Paul Bosvelt.
Trevor Sinclair is an injury doubt and the likes of Reyna, van Buyten and Sun Jihai all played international football midweek so may not be 100% either. Therefore, Keegan may have to throw in his rookies.
"There is a good chance at least one of the youngsters will come in against Bolton, either from the start or off the bench," he told the official club site.
He added: "We like the young players training with us because they always have bags of enthusiasm and endeavour.
"But they have to get into the squad on merit and at the moment they are being pushed forward because of injuries and suspensions."
Former City defender, Steve Howey is likely to make his Bolton debut after moving on a free from Leicester, replacing the suspended Emerson Thome.
