Mourinho said Real Madrid did NOT deserve to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a controversial 2-1 win over 10-man Manchester United.
Mourinho left the dug out early and did not applaud his players off the pitch at the end, then said: "Independent of the decision, the best team lost.
"We didn't play well, we didn't deserve to win but football is like this.
"I'm not speaking about the decision because I'm not sure about it."
"But independent of that the best team lost."
I'm sure his players will have been delighted to have heard that (NOT!), after they took Man Utd to the cleaners in the second half of the match.
The Spanish giants saw Sergio Ramos score an own-goal shortly after half-time to give United the initiative.
But Nani was given a red card in the 56th minute when he kicked Alvaro Arbeloa in the chest.
Luka Modric levelled on the night and on aggregate with a spectacular strike from distance 10 minutes later before, inevitably, former United old boy Cristiano Ronaldo scored what proved to be the winner shortly afterwards.
Mourinho also agreed with the TV reporter that his future was back in England: "I won't talk about Chelsea, but I will return to England next season".
