The Manchester City winger has joined the Scottish champions on a one-year loan deal.
He arrived in Glasgow on Friday to complete the move, having also been linked with Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as Stuttgart and Sampdoria. Weiss was taken to the club's Murray Park training complex where the deal was finalised with Rangers chief executive Martin Bain.
The highly-rated 20-year-old is now set to go straight into the squad for Sunday's SPL clash with Hibernian at Easter Road.
He found himself in demand after impressing at the World Cup in South Africa this summer and his capture will be seen as a major coup for the Light Blues.
