Weaver has returned to City after an impressive loan spell at Hillsborough and admits it was a dream come true to play for Wednesday, the club he supported as a boy.
The goalkeeper became a firm fans' favourite at Hillsborough following some impressive displays between the sticks and is back at Eastlands to challenge David James for a first-team spot.
He told Footymad: "From a personal point of view, I came here to play games and I ended up playing 14 and I am reasonably happy with the way I played but I have really enjoyed it, I have met some really nice people here, some great friends and there’s a good bunch of lads who I am sure will be able to stay up this year.
"Every kid dreams of playing for the team they support but in reality it’s hard to get that chance, so when it came I jumped at it so when I finish my career I will look back at my time at Wednesday with fondness but it wouldn’t surprise me if I ended up here again in the future."
Weaver faces stiff competition from James, who has proven his critics wrong for City with some excellent performances during the last 2 seasons.
Weaver added: "Jamo is doing very well and very rarely gets injured but really, unless he does get hurt, I don’t think I am going to play much. But I will go back and see what the score is. I will be working hard in training and see what happens. I am out of contract in the summer so maybe I will sit down with City and see what is going to happen or it may be a chance to move somewhere – who knows?"
