It has been reported that Samuel Eto’o has turned down a move to City, leaving Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan or Manchester United to vie for his signature. Eto’o has reportedly demanded an incredible monthly fee of £850,000 AFTER tax. Is he trying to save up to buy Newcastle?
Elsewhere, it is reported that Liverpool are preparing a £5m bid for Micah Richards. City may well accept the offer if the can get a replacement in, with West Ham defender Matthew Upson on City’s list of targets. The blues could well offer Daniel Sturridge in exchange for the England defender.
The Carlos Tevez stories rumble on, with the Argentine set to decide his future when his loan with United comes to an end later this month. City and Chelsea are chasing the striker. Brazilian star Robinho has recently urged his South American compatriot to join him at Eastlands.
Benfica’s Brazilian star Luisao has recently admitted to be interested in a switch to City, but the club have stated that no offers have been received. Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson is set to leave Fratton Park this summer with City being linked with making a bid. However, the club’s executive chairman Peter Storrie has stated that they would not block him from joining a club in next season Champions League. Storrie says “It is very hard to try and hold people back when they have a chance to play in the Champions League.” So does that mean City haven’t table a bid for him? We’ll wait and see.
In other transfer news, Real Madrid have apparently told Franck Ribery that they will sign him next season as they cannot pay more than £50m in one summer. Someone needs to show Real how to do their maths as £56m for Kaka and £80m for Ronaldo makes £136m doesn’t it? Speaking of Ronaldo, he has stated he’s happy to be hated. Well after all these years in the Premiership he should be used to it.
eal and Barcelona meanwhile have been warned by Inter Milan that they will have to pay £80m if they want to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And we were all under the impression City were ruining football!
