City manager Pelegrini says he would never criticise an opposing team for their tactics the way a frustrated Mourinho did after Chelsea had been held to a goal-less draw by West Ham last week.
Pellegrini, who finds it hard to disguise his contempt for the man who succeeded him as Real Madrid manager in 2009, said: “No, I never criticise what other teams do. I think it is very important for every team to resolve the problem that opponents put in front of them in every game.
“I think every team plays the way they want. They [Chelsea] have a style of play, maybe it’s not the style that I like, but everyone can play the way they want.
"Every manager can do whatever he wants but, for me, I have my own way of doing things.
“I remember it [Mourinho’s celebration] perfectly.
“Were Chelsea lucky that day? We made a mistake in the last minute.
"Maybe they didn’t play better than we did. We had most of the possession and tried to win the game but any game of football has other factors that influence the score.
"They won that day because of our errors. I don’t know if that is luck.”
