The Argentinian has admitted that he would love to return to his former club, Boca Juniors.

The former Manchester United striker said: “I’ve already said I want to retire wearing a Boca shirt, it’s my dream as well as my family’s.”

The 28-year-old began his career at the Buenos Aires club, where he was in the academy before being promoted to the first team.

During his tenure at the club, he played an essential part in winning the club’s first Copa Sudamericana title in 2004.

After moving to England in 2006, first to West Ham, Tevez has since become a world-class star, becoming an important figure in the final months of Manchester City’s Premier League title-winning campaign.

Despite taking an unauthorised six-month holiday back to his homeland, Tevez has repeatedly stated that he is enjoying life at the Etihad Stadium, and the problems in his relationship with manager Roberto Mancini have been resolved.

However, if Tevez was to return to Argentina to end his footballing career, then he would be welcomed with open arms.

“The president always says that the door is open for me and that I’ll die wearing the Boca shirt,”
