Chelsea and England defender John Terry has apparently demanded to speak to City over a potential move to Eastlands.
The 29 year old centre back has been the subject of two bids from the blues and is said to be unhappy at Chelsea’s lack of direction and the fact that Carlo Ancelloti is the fourth manager to take charge in two years, giving the club a very Man City like feeling.
However, if City ultimately fail in their bid to lure Terry to Eastlands, they may be forced to switch their attention to Porto centre back Bruno Alves and may even return to Everton for Joleon Lescott while Arsenal’s Kolo Toure seems to have dropped from the radar.
Meanwhile, Samuel Eto’o could be prepared to move to Man Utd in a £25m deal. The Cameroon striker has received a contract extension offer from Barcelona but has so far failed to make a decision whether to stay or go. It has also been reported in recent weeks that Eto’o would be prepared to drop is wage demands in order to join the Champions League losers. This will not only come as a disappointment to blues fans but also, if this is correct shows a lack of contempt by the player for the club which indicates that Eto’o was simply looking for a last big pay day.
City are also aiming to complete a deal to sign Argentine striker Carlos Tevez this week despite rumours of Chelsea being ready to hijack the deal. The blues have agreed to pay a fee believed to be somewhere between £25m and £30m for outright ownership of the player in accordance to FA rules
