City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips was on target for England in the final World Cup qualifying game at Wembley against Belarus.
The blues star scored England’s second with a well taken effort to double the home side’s lead after Peter Crouch had given the Three Lions the perfect start after just three minutes.
It was another City player, Gareth Barry who began the move for the opening goal. His perfectly timed pass played in ex-Villa team mate Gabriel Abgonlahor who crossed for Crouch to stick out a leg, the ball trickling over the line with the Belarus keeper helpless.
England pressed with Barry looking good in midfield and SWP working tirelessly out of position on the left wing. Blues left back Wayne Bridge also started the game but he was later substituted for James Milner.
