When the former England coach took over this summer, he refused to mention where he expected City to finish in his first season in charge.
The Sven era got off to a great start with victory at West Ham. Despite a hiccup away to Arsenal and Blackburn, the Blues are back up to 2nd, yet Sven still refuses to say how he thinks City should do this term.
Instead he is trying not to put extra pressure on the players and insists the Blues will take this season game-by-game.
"We've never talked about targets, about being in the top 6 or the top 10," he told the City website.
"We just concentrate on the next game, and we'll see where we are later in the season.
"I didn't expect to be in this position at this stage, and people may put pressure on us to stay here.
"Yes, I was surprised at West Ham but, apart from maybe Blackburn, we have played well in every match."
