"The return of David Sommeil gives us another centre back or right back," Kevin Keegan told the City website.
"He did very well during his loan spell with Marseille but he is back now and has to get on with it. He knows what he's coming back to and he likes it here.
"He did not ask to go in the first place. It was a deal that stacked up for everybody. He wanted to play first team football and he was not in our team at the time."
