The City winger is likely to continue up front with Robbie Fowler and Jon Macken yet to regain full fitness, and the impressive form of Willo Flood warranting another call for the young Irishman in SWP's usual right-midfield role.
And being one of City's two matchwinners, along with nicolas Anelka, Shaun expects to receive special attention, but believes that could open the game up for City.
"We're going to try and win the game, we are not going to just sit back and hope for a result," he told the M.E.N.
"If the United players try to mark me, I will just keep on the move and that might open things up for somebody else.
"As long as I can help somebody else get on the ball, that's fine for me."
Keegan is expected to start with the same line-up which drew 1-1 with Norwich last Monday, so Stephen Jordan, along with Flood, will make only his second league start at left-back in place of the injured Ben Thatcher.
