Schmeichel to retire next May

The 38-year-old new signing has made it clear that his spell at Maine Road will not extend beyond this season's Premiership campaign.

"It's finished," Schmeichel told Danish newspaper BT.

"I will hang up my boots in the dressing room in May at the end of the season at Manchester City. I don't feel 28 anymore."

"I'll have around 35 matches this season at Manchester City so that's enough.

"I can't do more than that."
