The 21-year-old goalgetter scored in the Carling Cup exit to Chesterfield and followed that up with both goals in the 2-0 defeat of West Ham.
That has earnt him a recall for Euro 2008 qualifiers against Norway this Saturday and Bosnia-Herzegovina the following Wednesday.
City's other international call-ups for this weekend are Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland with the Republic of Ireland, while Micah Richards has been named again in the England Under-21 squad.
City boss Stuart Pearce feels that is a good number to be away on international duty with another league match (Sheff Utd at home on Oct 14) just around the corner.
"It's always helpful to have more of your players here than away with their countries," he told the City website.
"In an ideal world, you would like the whole of your squad to be away on international duty - that's a reflection on how your squad is at the moment.
"But the bottom line is that you keep your fingers crossed that they play well for their countries and come back injury-free."
