Brazilian superstar Robinho has declared his intention to stay at Manchester City for years to come and revealed that he is fully behind manager Mark Hughes.
"My future is very much here," the £32.5m record signing said before adding he has 'no regrets' following his summer move from Real Madrid, although he admits that he won't be fully happy until City end their long wait for silverware.
On his relationship with the manager, Robinho says Hughes is an 'excellent manager who gives him confidence' while admitting that Hughes' expectations of him are high as he is one of the main players at the club. "The expectations are always high, people expect me to score a lot of goals, but that is not always possible."
And the striker firmly believes City have been a club on the up since he signed, saying he has noted a big improvement in the team and they are now 'thinking big,' referring to a remark that he was criticised for making earlier in the season when he said City have a 'small team mentality.'
A lot has been made of Robinho's contribution to the side this year, but the player has denied that the assault allegations in January hindered his form, describing the incident as a 'bad thing to happen' but it had nothing to do with the lack of goals or form.
The Brazilian accepts his confidence is not as high as it should be, but his goal against West Brom last weekend will hopefully spur him on to notch a few more before the end of the season.
