Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has hit out at City's spending policy claiming the market is now dominated by money.
The Reds boss, who has just splashed out £17m on Glen Johnson, said the market was 'crazy' and all about 'money money money.' Benitez also revealed he again tried to sign Gareth Barry from Aston Villa but claimed some clubs are offering big money for players.
In relation to City's signing's Benitez says 'they have some good players but there is no guarantee they will win anything.' Benitez should know that better than anyone. Liverpool have won nothing since they signed Fernando Torres for £20m in 2007. £20m even before City entered the scene as big spenders.
Slice of hypocrisy anyone?
