City held on to fourth spot in the Premier League table with a comfortable 5-1 win against Alex McLeish's battling Blues side at Eastlands on Sunday afternoon.
"We have some difficult games ahead," the City boss said.
"We are confident at the moment but it is more important to win games than it is to score five or six goals.
"Against Manchester United next week, if it is possible to win 1-0 then for me that would be OK.
"If we have 1-0 victories in the next five games that will be good for us. Of course we have respect for United but we want to win this game as it is an important one for us.
"First of all though, we have to recover from this game as we have used up a lot of energy."
