Argentina and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been chosen as our next ?Player of the Day?. It was Sergio Aguero?s first season for Man City, and his eye for goal helped them win the Premier League, especially with his crucial goal against QPR in the final minutes of the title race between them and Manchester United.

Aguero?s career with Atletico Madrid would prove to be successful, as he won the UEFA Intertoto Cup, UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup throughout his 5 seasons with them. Aguero?s second season with Atletico Madrid was undoubtedly one of his best. Making 50 appearances and scoring 27 goals in all competitions, he won multiple individual awards for that season, including FIFA Young Player of the Year, Don Balon award and Tuttosport Golden Boy. After Aguero?s 5th and final season with Atletico Madrid, he had made 234 appearances and scored 101 goals in all competitions, this was convincing enough for Man City manager Roberto Mancini to sign the Argentinean in July 2011 for a around ?38 million.

It didn?t take long for Aguero to settle in at Man City, as he made his Premier League debut coming on in the 59th minute as a sub against Swansea, and it only took him 9 minutes to score his first goal for the club. Afterwards getting his first assist, setting up a goal for David Silva, and then scoring his second goal with a 30-yard strike in the 90th minute to seal a 4-0 win at the start of the season. Aguero has had an impressive first season with Man City, making 34 appearances and scoring 23 goals in all competitions. But his final goal proved to be the most important, the 93rd minute of Man City?s final game of the season against London Club side QPR, Aguero scored the winning goal to make it 3-2 and to win the Premier League over a distraught Manchester United side, who lost the title by the smallest of margins.

?In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't.?

Aguero was featured in the Argentina U-20 squad from 2005-2007; overall he made 7 appearances and scored 6 goals for his side, and his contribution helped them win both the 2005 and the 2007 U-20 World Cups. Aguero made his senior international debut against Brazil on the 3rd September 2006 at the age of just 18. Since then he has featured in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, in the Olympics he scored 2 goals in a 3-0 win against Brazil in the semi final, they then went on to win gold medal in the tournament. He has also been included in the Argentina team for the 2010 World Cup, in which they lost to Germany in the quarter finals, and also represented Argentina in the 2011 Copa America. Aguero has made 36 appearances for Argentina, and scored 15 goals.
