City dominated yesterday's match with Newcastle but failed to make the breakthrough and were left hanging on for a 0-0 draw as the visitors went close twice at the death.
City striker Georgios Samaras found the net with a 69th-minute header but the goal was ruled out for a foul by fellow substitute Bernardo Corradi.
The result meant City maintained their record of yet conceding at home this season but it was our 3rd goalless draw at the COMS.
We've also scored just once in our last 5 games, but Pearce is confident the goals will soon come.
Pearce said: "We've done everything bar put the ball in the back of the net... well, we did that as well.
"We created a host of chances with a team that showed the desire to win a game a bit more. I'll take the positives and say we've not conceded a goal and I'm very pleased with that.
"If we keep creating the chances we have done today then we will win games," added the City boss.
"Their keeper's played reasonably well, and when it's dropped for us we've not been clinical enough, but we'll keep working on that."
