Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has tipped City for the Premier League title this season.
The former Celtic boss admits that his side will be one of those overtaken by the blues this season but says he is excited by what is happening in the blue half of Manchester. "It's like the Premiership has been re-invented," says O'Neill. "I think the top four has now become the top five."
It would have been easy for the Villa boss to be bitter about the goings on at Eastlands this season and admits it is 'deflating' to see Villa going so close last season and then watch as City build a team to overtake them. But in stark contrast to the condemnation received from the Borough of Trafford, O'Neill is genuinely pleased to see another side who could potentially challenge for the title.
"City might not be favourites for the title but they should be. There's part of me that's actually quite excited to see what they do."
