NICO & MIDO LINKED IN TRANSFER MERRY-GO-ROUND

French daily paper L'Equipe claims Barcelona will move for Anelka if their approach for Samuel Eto'o comes to nothing.

The Catalan giants had hoped to tempt the Real Mallorca striker to the Nou Camp but the deal has hit complications with Barca's bitter rivals Real Madrid still holding half of the player's registration.

Meanwhile, French club Lyon are also said to be interested in Anelka after selling Peguy Luyindula to Marseille for £7.3million.

That move has therefore restored Marseille's attacking options after they sold star man Didier Drogba to Chelsea, so that could pave the way for Mido to complete his loan move to England.

However, Kevin Keegan is thought to have put his plans to bring in another senior striker on hold as he desperately seeks a replacement for crocked keeper Geert de Vlieger instead.
