Claudio Ranieri’s side have made urgent enquiries about a host of strikers at top European clubs following the serious knee injury sustained by talisman Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian is likely to sit out the rest of the domestic campaign and, according to his national side, has only a 50-50 chance of being fit to participate in this summer’s World Cup.
Monaco have asked about the likes of Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic and Manchester United hitman Javier Hernandez, but are yet to strike a deal.
They are interested in prolific hitman Dzeko, but as MC-Mad revealed last week, the player won’t decide on his future until the World Cup is over and his preference is to remain with City or, if the Blues decide to sell, to stay in England.
The title hopefuls have already given short shrift to an approach from Dzeko’s former club Wolfsburg.
