McCarthy Doesn't Think City Will Win The League This Season

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy believes City will not be challenging for the Premier League title this season.

Speaking ahead of his side’s visit to Eastlands on Saturday, former blues defender McCarthy claims it is not realistic to expect City to win the league with a team they have just bought. “They might make a push for it,” he states before adding that the other teams are more settled than the blues at the moment.

But McCarthy defended City’s spending, saying it is not bad for the game, while saying that Mark Hughes’ job is not any harder than his own. “I have a place where he is expected to finish and I have a place I’m expected to finish, says the Irishman. “Mine is 17th and up, theirs is 6th and up. I’ve got the players to finish 17th, he has the players to finish 6th. How is his job harder?
