The midfielder's outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk has been quoted saying the midfielder will leave City this summer if he is not offered a new three-year deal.
The 32-year-old enters the final 12 months of the four-year contract he signed in 2013 at the end of the season
Seluk claims if City do not want to keep the Ivorian beyond his current deal they should let him leave on a free transfer this summer
If not, he says he will look at ways to extract his client from his contract.
"I will not let Yaya waste a year at City," Seluk said in the Sunday Mirror
"I will not let City keep him because, in one more year, his chances of joining another big club will be smaller.
"I will go to FIFA
I will write to them and tell them that we will buy Yaya out of his contract
We can do this
It is an option
This is not a threat
"I promise you that Yaya will leave City this summer one way or another if they don't offer him a new contract."
Yet these are merely the latest in a long line of inflammatory remarks from Seluk and Pellegrini rarely responds when the subject arises.
Asked about Toure at a press conference to preview Tuesday's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, Pellegrini said: "He is focused on these games that we must finish this season
At the end of the season he will see his future.
"For the moment he is just thinking about the game we play tomorrow and the six more games that we have to play in the Premier League, and we hope to continue in the Champions League to the end."
City's incoming manager Pep Guardiola was in charge at Barcelona when the Catalans sold Toure to City in 2010.
