Mancini has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal after a lavish spending spree which has made City serious title contenders. The Italian is likely to rotate his squad for Wednesday night's Carling Cup fourth-round tie at Wolves but Platt insists that should not mask his desire to push for glory in four competitions this season.
Platt said: "He is driven by winning, he doesn't prioritise so much. To him there is a competition we are playing in tonight that we want to win. Then he will concentrate on the next game."
He added: "History has shown it is tough to win all four but you compete in them because you have no guarantee to win them all.
"You go to compete in them and see where you are at the end of the season.
"Our squad is deeper in terms of quality. If we have got a clean bill of health, we are leaving people in the stand that should play.
"That is as hard a decision as putting 11 on the field at times.
"We had Stefan Savic and Adam Johnson in the stand at the weekend.
"As long as we have got a clean bill of health, we know whatever game we go into we are going to be putting a competitive 11 out."
