The Italian champions are demanding a £80 million transfer fee and Pogba, who left Manchester United at 19 on a free transfer, is reported to be seeking a five year, £250k-per-week contract
The additional cost is a signing on fee which could rise to as much as £10 million.
Despite this Manchester City are still interested and are willing to pay the asking price.
Pogba is understood to be one of Manuel PellegriniÂ’s top three transfer targets, with WolfsburgÂ’s Kevin De Bruyne and LiverpoolÂ’s Raheem Sterling making up the rest of the CitizenÂ’s shopping list.
The 22 year old French international scored ten goals and assisted his team mates six times and Pellegrini feels he would make a great midfield partner with current City player Yaya Toure
It has been reported that ToureÂ’s ambitions for leave the Sky BlueÂ’s have faded after he was made aware of their transfer plans.
Manchester City still have to battle Barcalona and Real Madrid for PogbaÂ’s signature according to reports in Spain.
City may also have to sell several players in order to fund the move with striker Edin Dzeko being the most recent player to be linked with a move away
Roma are interested in the Bosnian international, with the proposed move reportedly being an initial loan deal with a commitment to buy the player after one season for a combined £15 million.
