Manchester City bid for Gaston Ramirez blocked by Bologna

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has enjoyed an impressive debut season in Serie A and has drawn interest from a host of top European suitors.

But Bologna are keen to keep hold of him and have slapped a ?17.5million asking price on the player and have already rejected an 'official bid' from the oil-rich Barclays Premier League club, according to the player's representative, Vincenzo D'Ippolito.

'It's a concrete offer from Manchester City for him,' D'Ippolito told Sky Sport Italia.

'I don't know what amount but Bologna, for now, said no.
