Man City win for Kolo - Mancini

News of the 29-year-old's positive test emerged on Wednesday night, just before the FA Cup win over Aston Villa.

"This victory is for Kolo. It is a bad moment for him but we love him like a man, like a player," said Mancini.

Toure is allowed to train with his team-mates until the case is heard, although as yet, he has not done so.

"Kolo is a fantastic man. He is a serious professional player but he is not feeling good," added Mancini.

Toure was informed by the Football Association that he failed a test taken at the Manchester derby last month where he was an unused substitute. Toure tested positive for a specified substance.

The punishment for this offence ranges from a warning to a two-year ban.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Toure's failed drugs test was a result of the player taking a "slimming product belonging to his wife".

However, City regard such comments as unhelpful.

"The Football Club has noted public comments by a number of parties connected to Kolo Toure, regarding the ongoing matter of his current suspension," said a statement posted on the club's official website www.mcfc.co.uk.

"Whilst the club will continue to make no comment on the nature, status and possible outcome of this case until its conclusion, it would like to stress that public statements from such individuals are unhelpful and in some cases untrue."
