Man City predicted lineup vs Norwich - Premier League

After being shocked by Tottenham on opening weekend, Manchester City will look to get their title defence going when they welcome Norwich City to the Etihad on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola's men were stifled by a stubborn Spurs side and their need for a new striker was laid bare. Interest in Harry Kane remains but Spurs aren't doing business right now, leaving City a man light in attack.

Here's how the boss could set up for this one.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Ederson (GK) - Last year's Golden Glove winner, Ederson will be looking to get his tally started this year against the Premier League newcomers.

Kyle Walker (RB) - Walker's return to action after a busy summer has been delayed thus far, but expect Guardiola to ease him back into the swing of things with a start here.

John Stones (CB) - Like Walker, Stones has been resting up after the Euros, but Nathan Ake's sloppy showing against Spurs will have left Guardiola desperate to bring the Englishman back in.

Ruben Dias (CB) - It was Dias who left Ederson unsighted for the goal last weekend, but he deserves the chance to bounce back with a better performance this time out.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) - After Benjamin Mendy's horror show against Spurs, there will definitely be a new starter at left-back, and expect Zinchenko to get the nod over Joao Cancelo.

2. Midfielders

Rodri (DM) - Fernandinho started the Spurs game, but Guardiola should use this as a good opportunity to get Rodri some more minutes under his belt.

Bernardo Silva (CM) - Kevin De Bruyne is doubtful after missing Friday's training session, while Ilkay Gundogan will face a late fitness test after overcoming a shoulder issue, so Silva may be the only real option here.

Jack Grealish (CM) - Grealish will be expecting more freedom against Norwich than was afforded to him by Spurs, and he'll be looking forward to playing a match without too many boos from those inside the stadium for once.

3. Forwards

Riyad Mahrez (RW) - Silva's move into midfield, coupled with Phil Foden's injury, means Mahrez is almost a guaranteed starter out on the right.

Ferran Torres (ST) - Torres enjoys playing in a central role and appears to have Guardiola's trust, which is more than can be said for Gabriel Jesus.

Raheem Sterling (LW) - Sterling struggled last time out against Spurs but will be expecting a far better performance against Norwich.
