Premier League leaders Manchester City host a depleted Leeds side on Tuesday night, with the unrelenting festive schedule well and truly upon us.
Marcelo Bielsa fanboy Pep Guardiola is looking for his first victory against the Argentine since the Whites were promoted back to the Premier League in 2020, having lost the corresponding fixture last season.
City held on to top spot in the Premier League with an underwhelming 1-0 home victory over Wolves on Saturday, courtesy of a Raheem Sterling penalty.
Guardiola will be looking for an improved display and to avoid any unnecessary slip-ups in midweek.
Here's the lineup he could pick to get the job done...
Man City predicted lineup vs Leeds - Premier League
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Ederson (GK) - Had a rest for the Champions League match last week so will certainly start here.
Kyle Walker (RB) - Dropped at the weekend after his needless red card against Leipzig but will be recalled here with Joao Cancelo suspended.
Ruben Dias (CB) - Will likely keep his place as Guardiola looks to avoid any needless slip-ups.
Aymeric Laporte (CB) - Who partners Dias is a toss-up, but Laporte has been the strongest performer of late when compared to John Stones and Nathan Aké.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) - A fairly safe bet to start at left-back in the absence of Cancelo as the full-backs are shuffled.
2. Midfielders
Fernandinho (DM) - Rodri has barely been afforded a rest in the Premier League this season, but that could well change here in the midst of the hectic festive schedule.
Kevin De Bruyne (CM) - A good opportunity to get more minutes into the Belgian's legs against an opponent that will likely be less intense than normal.
Bernardo Silva (CM) - In such a rich vein of form that Guardiola may well find it difficult to leave him out.
3. Forwards
Riyad Mahrez (RW) - Expect him to be restored to the starting lineup following a rest against Wolves.
Jack Grealish (CF) - Grealish has been deployed centrally a few times this season and this may be seen as a good opportunity to try it again. Needs to find some form.
Phil Foden (LW) - Seems to have recovered from a knock. Could dovetail quite nicely with England teammate Grealish and swap positions throughout.
