Vincent Kompany believes City’s recent form is the ideal preparation for next Sunday’s derby game at Old Trafford.
“We are doing what we need to do before a big game for us at United,” says Kompany, whose midfield partnership alongside Nigel de Jong has allowed Robinho and Elano to torment both the Everton and Blackburn defences.
City’s goals came from the South American trio of the two Brazilians and Felipe Caicedo as the blues cruised to a 3-1 victory, their fourth straight win including the Hamburg tie. “I'm happy to say that it's not just our home form that is good but the form in general,” he continues as the blues prepare to put a halt on United’s march towards the Premier League title.
A City win and defeat for West Ham at home to Liverpool would not only see City move into seventh, but would also give the Merseyside outfit draw level on points with United at the top of the table. Nothing would give blues fans more pleasure than putting one other the old enemy while giving Liverpool the hope of snatching the title from under their noses.
