Vincent Kompany couldn't have hoped for a better way to hang up his boots and admits that his crucial winning goal against Leicester City on May 6th was the perfect footnote to an incredible career.
The goal ensured Man City remained top of the Premier League ahead of Liverpool who would have quite possibly won the title if the ball hadn't gone into the net that night.
"The moment that ball against Leicester went 'top bins', I knew I was done. I couldn't do anything better," said the City skipper.
"I've given everything I could for this club. I can't tell you how proud of that I am. I have nothing left. I have given everything."
