The Dutch midfielder's loan spell from Atletico Madrid expires in the summer and City boss Stuart Pearce is yet to make a decision on whether he wants Musampa on a permanent basis.
However, Musampa has told a Dutch football magazine he would prefer to return to England than stay in Spain, although he has hinted at moving to a bigger club.
''My first thought is to stay in England,'' he told Voetbal International.
''We are talking about clubs who are playing for silverware and who are every year playing in Europe.
''I have now been playing only league football for some years and not for trophies. I miss fighting for silverware.
''It's fantastic to play against Arsenal and Chelsea, but to challenge a top team is even better.''
