Jude Bellingham unsure on how to stop 'dangerous' Erling Haaland

Jude Bellingham has admitted he is unsure how to stop Erling Haaland individually ahead of Borussia Dortmund's clash with Manchester City on Wednesday.

Haaland left the Bundesliga outfit this past summer and joined Pep Guardiola's City, making a fast start at his new home with 12 goals in just eight appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The Norway international used to play with Bellingham at Signal Iduna Park and the latter admitted that while stopping Haaland individually can be puzzling, shutting down City's entire rhythm will be key to Dortmund getting a result away from home on Wednesday.

When asked how BVB can stop Haaland, Bellingham replied: "I’m not really sure to be honest!

"He’s a player with a lot of quality and a lot of physical attributes that make him dangerous and like I said it’s not an individual task, it’s something that the team have to deal with collectively.

"If we stick together and try to do the right things without the ball then it can be possible."

Dortmund made a winning start to their UCL campaign last week by beating Copenhagen 3-0 but their inconsistency plagued them again as Edin Terzic's side were smashed 3-0 by RB Leipzig at the weekend.

They face a City side who dumped them out of the competition at the quarter-final stage in 2020/21, while it will be the first time Haaland has faced his former club since leaving in the summer.
