Manchester City's hopes of signing Napoli midfielder Jorginho have moved a step closer.
According to the MEN...
Jorginho will sign for Manchester City as soon as a fee can be agreed with Napoli.
The Italian international is Pep Guardiola's top midfield target in his search for a long-term successor to Fernandinho this summer.
Napoli are holding out for as much as £60m for the 26-year-old - but City will try to agree a price closer to £50m.
And with the Premier League champions Jorginho’s preferred choice, his agent says a move to the Etihad will be a formality.
“At this time Jorginho is still under contract, but if Napoli is in agreement with City, the player goes to Manchester,” Joao Santos told CalcioNapoli24 LIVE.
“Finding an agreement with the English will not be a problem considering the importance of the team.
