The veteran striker, who has been troubled with a back injury all season and has made just one sub appearance for the first team, was pulled out of a reserves game on Tuesday - a 3-1 win at home to Bolton.
But Pearce claimed that having played in several reserve matches already this season, Fowler would have gained little more from yet another run-out.
"Robbie is treated in exactly the same manner as every other member of the squad. He wouldn't want it any other way" Stu added.
"He is training well and you must remember that due to injury he has not played in a first team game in 6 months."
The club also confirmed that there are no more payments due to Leeds for the Fowler transfer - contrary to suggestions in the media earlier this week.
