City came from 1-0 down to beat Burnley at Turf Moor, Sergio Aguero's 32nd and 33rd goals in his last 34 Premier League games securing a 2-1 win.
"We expected a game like that," the midfielder told BT Sport.
"We analysed Burnley before, they play long balls, play for second balls and they started like that.
"But we scored two goals and turned it around and won the game.
"We want to be champions, we have to play these kind of games."
Manager Pep Guardiola added: "We showed a lot of personality in this stadium
We will now prepare for our game against Chelsea.
"It is almost impossible to defend that (long balls)
They are taller than us and the second ball, they are good
They are dangerous.
"The teams in the Premier League, especially this kind, they do really well."
