- Barcelona will only consider a loan switch, while Marseille and Liverpool have cooled their interest, but - according to the M.E.N. - Fenerbahce are to make an official bid in the next 24 hours.
If an acceptable offer is made, or even the idea of a 6-month loan deal put forward, the French striker seems willing to move to Turkey, where he will be able to compete in the UEFA Cup.
- The Guardian has suggested that Fenerbahce's offer will be £7m - enough to cover the final installment of the £13m transfer fee City agreed when we bought him from PSG, leaving a bit spare to cover debts or boost Kevin Keegan's meagre transfer kitty.
"Everybody knows we still have £5m to pay on Nicolas, so you would have to add quite a bit more on to that figure for us to sell," said the City boss.
- Meanwhile, Peguy Luyindula scored twice for Marseille yesterday as they beat Nice 2-0. The France striker was watched by City scouts recently as KK considered the option of a loan-swap deal with Anelka.
- City have allowed Lee Croft to spend a third and final month on loan at Oldham. His last game for the Latics is expected to be at Blackpool on February 8.
