The agent of Samuel Eto’o has announced a press conference for tomorrow which should reveal whether the Cameroon striker has decided to join City or stay with Barcelona.
It is widely anticipated that Eto’o will turn down the move to Eastlands and stay with the European Champions until the end of his contract, when he will be able to leave the club for free.
It has been reported that any deal for Eto’o would make him the best paid player in the Premiership but any suggestion that he will be paid £13m per year may be well wide of the mark. City’s owners may be rich but they are not stupid and they will not be held to ransom over paying exorbitant wages, particularly with Real Madrid’s biggest fans, Sepp Blatter and Michele Platini waiting to stick their noses into City’s affairs.
With City’s ‘monster’ offer set to be rejected, their may be better news from Carlos Tevez, whose loan deal ends on Tuesday and he is almost certain to join the blues after claiming he wants to stay in the North West.
