City target Samuel Eto has been offered a new two year contract with Barcelona, the striker's agent, Josep Maria Mesalles has confirmed.
The Cameroon hitman had been told by Barca coach Pep Guardiola that he wasn't in his plans for next season. It now looks like the European Champions have had a change of heart.
Mesalles says the deal offered is on the same terms as the striker's current contract and would be prepared to discuss a move if Barca want to sell. Further negotiations between the striker and his club are planned. Mesalles states they will study the new offer but if they do not want him, Eto'o will move. Mesalles also states that Eto'o would be delighted to move to Eastlands if Barca accept City's bid.
Barca were willing to cash in on the striker, who enters the final year of his contract, rather than risk him leaving for free at the end of next season.
