City are reportedly close to signing Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o in a £20m deal.
But Eto'o, whose goal in Rome set Barcelona on their way to easily win the Champions League trophy, may be reluctant to leave the Nou Camp following their success in Europe.
Elsewhere, Lucas Neill has severed his ties with West Ham and may link up again with boss Mark Hughes. Meanwhile, Hughes is tracking Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. The 6'3" striker will just be the sort of aerial presence City need up front and will be a cheaper option than Santa Cruz or Crouch. Dzeko has scored 30 goals in thirty three appearances for the German side and Wolfsburg will be looking for around £10m for his signature.
