Erik ten Hag has picked out what he likes about Erling Haaland ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Haaland has been the star of the season so far, scoring 14 goals in all competitions in his first nine matches as a Manchester City player.
While Ten Hag doesn't want Manchester United to solely focus on stopping the Norwegian, he has admitted that he's a fan of the striker's style attitude.
“I like his attitude. How he is on the pitch. He’s direct, his life is about goals – he goes direct toward the opponent. He can also create," the Man Utd manager said.
"But [while] I respect him, we are not playing against Haaland, we are playing against Man City, but it is not about Man City. I respect the opponent but it is about Man United.”
Ten Hag has a former team-mate of Haaland's in his ranks, with Jadon Sancho playing alongside him when both were at Borussia Dortmund.
Given that, the Dutchman has asked the winger for advice, but has still ensured his staff have done their own research.

“Of course you talk with your players. When someone has played in the past with a particular opponent, you ask him. They can give more details," he said.
"But it is also our job to look at them in advance. If an individual makes a huge contribution, we have to analyse them as a staff.”
Man Utd can move to within two points of their local rivals with a game in hand if they claim victory at the Etihad.
