Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has appealed to the club's hierarchy to find him a top-level striker after losing the services of Argentina ace Gonzalo Higuain for four months due to injury.

The £27million arrival of Edin Dzeko at Eastlands has seen Adebayor slip well down the pecking order in manager Roberto Mancini's plans with Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Jo all above him.
The La Liga giants are poised to broach a loan deal for the former Arsenal man with a view to a permanent £10m transfer in the summer.
Staying put: Roman Pavlyuchenko
Adebayor's was close to rejoining French club Monaco but his proposed move faltered after they struggled to find the necessary finance.
The 26-year-old, however, is willing to take a cut in his £140,000-a-week wages to move to Madrid.Former Chelsea boss Mourinho has also been linked with a move for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
But Sportsmail understand reports in Spain are wide off the mark with the Russia international insisting he knows nothing of their apparent interest.
'I learned about Real Madrid's interest on the internet. Frankly, I don't know anything more about it,' said Pavlyuchenko, who is set to open negotiations to extend his stay at White Hart Lane.
A move for Adebayor, who signed for City last season for £25million, is more within Mourinho's interests with the Togo frontman eligible to play in the Champions League. The temporary deal, with a view to a permanent switch, is expected to be completed this week.
