Dzeko scored the only goal as Manchester City beat West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad last night, which was only the 15th game this season that he has started.
Boss Roberto Mancini revealed that he was delighted with the Bosinan's performance, "Yes, could be. I am happy because he scored an important goal," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"With his goal we are in the Champions League and probably in second position. We have four days to recover from this game, so could be."
Despite scoring 14 times this term, the City boss lamented Dzeko's goal return but believes he can improve next season if he remains at the Etihad Stadium.
"In the end he has scored important goals this season," Mancini added. "I think he can do better. For me he is a top striker but he could score more goals.
"It is clear he didn't play all the games. I think he is one of the best in Europe for me but he can do better than this year."
