Manchester City Chief Executive Garry Cook has moved to quash rumours of Brazilian star Robinho leaving the club.
It had been mooted from several sources that current Champions League winners Barcelona had made a £35m bid for the British record signing, while others have stated he will be on his way in a season long loan.
But Cook states there is ‘no substance’ to the reports. “Robinho is a highly valued member of the team,” says Cook. “reports suggesting he will leave the club [permanently or loan] are absolutely untrue."
The Brazilian’s future has been under scrutiny following City’s failure to reach Europe at the end of last season with former club Santos stating they wanted to take him home.
