The pair were unavailable for Stuart Pearce's first game in charge at Spurs two weeks ago and are still recovering from respective calf and hamstring injuries.
The main selection dilemma for the new Blues boss is whether to go for Danny Mills at right-back or Nedum Onuoha, who he opted for against Spurs.
"I have my own views on certain players’ abilities and who I think will make up our best team and in what formation to win a certain game," he told the official City website.
"I have been looking at Charlton over the last fortnight and thought about their strengths and weaknesses.
"I will pick a team again on my gut feeling that I believe is the best one to take on Charlton and beat them. It is as simple as that really. I don't think I have an abundance of selection problems."
