City’s wait for a win at Wigan will have to wait until next season as a Martin Petrov strike earned the blues a point.
Wigan, who have had a mixed season so far, took the lead on the stroke of half time. Hugo Rodallega’s shot was parried by Shay Given but Charles N’Zogbia was on hand to send the host in 1-0 up at half time.
It didn’t take long for the blues to level with Petrov again proving his worth to the side by rifling in the equaliser before Pablo Zabaleta was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The red card prompted the home side to pound the City defence but, even with Kolo Toure missing through injury, the blues held firm to secure a valuable point.
So City return from Wigan, still waiting for their first Premiership win there but at least the fans will have been quite happy with the pies on the way home. That’s unless someone ate them all.
